Being involved in the community has become an important objective of the Barbados Association of Greater Houston. We value community service, and social responsibility and encourage our members to play a vital role in promoting the organization through service.
Here are some of the Community Service Events:
Food / Clothing / Toy Drives:
You are encouraged to bring the following items to meetings and BAGH activities. These are the items that are typically most needed:
Food Items:
• Tuna & Other Canned Meat
• Peanut Butter
• Chunky Soups & Beef Stew
• Macaroni & Cheese
• Spaghetti & Sauce
• Rice, and Dry & Canned Beans
• Canned Vegetables & Fruits
• Powdered Milk
• 100% Fruit Juice (Cans, Bottles, Boxes)
"Sugar Free," "Low Sodium," & "No Salt"
Personal Care Items:
• Shampoo, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes

Christmas Adopt-a-Family
Date Initiated: TBD
Date of Delivery: December 20th
Description: Adopt-a-Family is an annual food and clothing drive to Help a family/families during the holiday season. At the end of the food and clothing collection, volunteers will help distribute the items to the family/families selected.
Feed the Homeless at Saint James Episcopal Church
Time and Location: March 2009, St. James Episcopal Church
Description:
BAGH's Day of Service is one day when we meet to cook and feed the homeless in Third Ward. It is our way of giving back to the comminity as well as thanking this church for supporting our activities throughout the year.
ELAINE MASSIAH
We are the actual host team for the luncheon. We arrive on time and cook a meal which includes a meat, vegetable, and Carbohydrate. Desert and a beverage is also provided. The patrons enjoy a church service prior to gathering to eat.
